On this eight-day Amici only painting break, you will be staying in a typical 19th-century Sicilian villa, with an outdoor swimming pool, and learning to paint this amazing landscape alongside your fellow amici guests with your own Painting tutor.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Private transfer to the villa.
Our Flavours transfer will meet you at Catania Airport and take you to the villa where you can settle in, meet your teacher, chef and host and enjoy welcome drinks. Dinner this evening is at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Day 2 - A day of painting and sketching at the villa.
After breakfast, you’ll have your first lesson. With your tutor, you’ll explore the villa and its grounds with your sketch book, sketching the pomegranate and olive trees, the ancient walls of the villa and views from the roof terrace. After lunch, you will explore how to develop your sketches into more finished pieces, with a focus on composition and drawing. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to enjoy at the villa and the pool area before dinner.

Day 3 - Day trip to Siracusa and Noto.
Today, you will visit the coastal town of Siracusa where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the historic old town looking for the perfect vista. After a morning sketching and painting, head to our favourite local trattoria in the old part of the city, Ortigia, for lunch. In the afternoon, travel to Noto to take in the stunning valley views for a lesson on landscape painting. Dinner tonight is prepared by your chef back at the villa.

Day 4 - A day trip to Marzamemi for some sketching.
After breakfast, you’ll head out to Marzamemi, a local fishing village famous for catching tuna, for a day of sketching by the seaside. Lunch will be at our favourite local trattoria, with time after lunch to continue sketching and painting. Return to the villa late afternoon for aperitivi and dinner, prepared by your chef.

Day 5: Spend a day at the villa painting and relaxing.
After breakfast, you’ll have some time to draw and work on your technique. Your tutor will also give a lesson focusing on drawing buildings with a guide to simplifying perspective. You will spend the rest of the day at the villa with time to continue your work, or relax by the pool and in the villa grounds. Lunch and dinner will be at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Day 6: A morning of painting followed by a day trip to Modica and Ragusa.
After breakfast, enjoy another painting lesson. In the afternoon, you will head off to the impressive town of Modica to sketch its beautiful scenes. From here, we’ll head to the beautiful city of Ragusa. The beautifully manicured Giardino Ibleo gardens are the ideal location to sketch before settling down to paint. Dinner is at our favourite restaurant in Ragusa.

Day 7: Enjoy a relaxed morning by the pool or paint at your leisure.
Following breakfast, you’ll have the chance to add the finishing touches to your artwork and discuss any questions or ask for any final words of advice. After lunch, we’ll mount up your favourite artwork and hang them in the studio ready for the evening’s exhibition. Afterwards, enjoy a special farewell dinner at the villa, prepared by your chef.

Day 8: Our group transfer will take you back to Catania Airport.
After breakfast our transfer will take you back to Catania Airport for your onward journey. Arrivederci!
